Who should join?
Any company involved in the agricultural commodities and general produce business, trading in grains, pulses, rice, general produce, spices and feedingstuffs or any company providing services to those companies should be a member of Gafta.
The Association exists to represent its members' interests and to promote trade.
Membership is available in a number of categories, which reflect the different areas of business within the trade: traders, brokers, superintendents, arbitrators, individuals, analysts, professional firms, branches of members, and fumigators.

International representation
Representation at all levels to promote the trade worldwide, including at the European Union, NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) status at WTO (World Trade Organisation) and FAO (Food and Agricultural Organisation), Codex Alimentarius and membership of IGTC (International Grain Trade Coalition).

Gafta's standard forms of contract
Only members have access to the full range of Gafta standard forms of contract.
Dispute resolution services
Gafta provides services to enable parties using Gafta contracts to resolve disputes promptly and cost effectively – either through Arbitration or Mediation. More information can be found on our Arbitration page.
Professional development
Gafta’s Continuing Professional Development Programme provides training on best practice throughout the trading cycle – either through attendance at courses organised around the world or through a web-based distance learning programme. These are available to members at reduced prices. Details of forthcoming training events can be found on our Training page.

Members have full access to the online Members Directory, which provides details of all Gafta members by membership category.
Gaftaworld
Members receive hard copy of the bi-monthly Gaftaworld newsletter, and can view the current issue and previous issues in the Members section of our website.
The Gafta Trade Assurance Scheme (GTAS)
The Gafta Trade Assurance Scheme (GTAS) is a HACCP based scheme for all companies operating in the international grain and feed trades. It is designed to maintain consumer confidence concerning the handling and delivery of safe food and feed. Discover more on our GTAS page.
Approved Superintendents Register
The Register of superintendent companies that are approved to carry out superintendent duties under Gafta contracts. All superintendent members are bound by a code of best practice and conduct.
Approved Analysts Register
The Register of analyst laboratories that are approved to carry out analytical testing of samples under Gafta contracts.
